Announcing YC’s Growth Stage Program

Today, we are excited to announce the YC Growth Program, our first formal program for later stage startups. If we imagine Y Combinator as the university degree for startups, the Growth Program is grad school. The program is designed for founder-CEOs of post-Series A companies with between 50-100 employees who are in the early stages of company-building. The basis of the program is a 10-week dinner series, with each dinner focused on a specific issue that every startup has to overcome in order to scale successfully.

Request for Education Startups

We’re deeply interested in education because of its power to transform lives and societies and to maximize human potential. On a micro level, we believe technology can help reverse the trend in K-12 of spending more and more money to achieve the same learning outcomes. We believe tech can also create alternatives in higher education that will prepare adults for the careers they want without the burden of excessive student debt. Here are a few categories of education applications that consistently stand out to us as interesting.

YC World

We put together a map that shows where YC companies are from. It’s based on the location of the founders before applying for YC. We believe the global startup ecosystem can support a lot more startups. We would love to see even more people starting companies and we will continue to increase our outreach efforts. As more people from different backgrounds apply, more startups will be funded, a wider range of problems will be addressed and the positive impact will be felt around the world.

Y Combinator Fall Tour 2017

Twice a year (fall and spring), we visit cities and universities around the world. Our goal is to meet as many founders as possible and learn how we can be helpful to startup communities both in and outside of Silicon Valley. Below is a list of the cities we are visiting this fall. We’ll update this list as we add locations. In each of these cities, you’ll get a chance to meet people in the YC community (either the YC team or alumni). We’ll be hosting talks and one-on-one offices hours.
