A lot of great people joined the YC and YCC teams in the past six months.

Eric Migicovsky, Partner
Eric founded Pebble Technology (YC W11), which was acquired by Fitbit in 2016. While studying engineering at the University of Waterloo in 2008, Eric began building smartwatches with a group of friends. In April 2012, Eric and his team launched Pebble on Kickstarter, where it became the most successful crowdfunded project in Kickstarter’s history. Pebble grew to over $250 million in revenue and sold over 2,000,000 watches.

Holly Liu, Visiting Partner
Holly founded Kabam, a company that started as a corporate social network, then turned into fan communities for TV shows and sports, and pivoted into a mobile gaming company by the time it was acquired. Holly was in charge of product design and was lead designer on their flagship franchise Kingdoms of Camelot, a game that grossed over $250 million in revenue. She later oversaw the worldwide People and Culture function. Kabam grew to over 1,500 employees (including contractors) and sold to Netmarble and FoxNext in 2017.

Diego Rey, Visiting Partner
Diego co-founded GeneWEAVE while working on his PhD at Cornell in 2010 and sold it to Roche in 2015. GeneWEAVE develops infectious disease diagnostics for detecting and identifying bacteria and determining their antimicrobial susceptibility. GeneWEAVE went on to raise $25MM and grow to 50 employees before being acquired for $425M. Diego was CTO at GeneWEAVE and stayed on at Roche as Head of Research for his division for two years before joining YC.

Matt Bogrand, Associate, YC Continuity
Matt joined YC Continuity from Dropbox (YC S07). As a member of their Strategic Finance team, Matt led projects across corporate finance & strategy, product planning, and partnerships to help set strategic direction based on financial insights. Before that, Matt was an Analyst with Blackstone’s M&A group.

Nic Dardenne, Associate, YC Continuity
Before joining YC Continuity, Nic worked as an Analyst at Morgan Stanley where he focused on M&A and capital markets transactions for industrial services, consumer retail, and private equity clients.

Kyle Corbitt, Software Engineer
Kyle decided to join the YC software team because he’s passionate about making life easier for early-stage companies. Prior to YC, Kyle founded Emberall, a company that helps record and preserve the life stories of senior citizens. He has also worked as a software engineer at Google.

Adele Gower, Office Manager
Adele joined YC as the San Francisco office manager. Before YC, she worked a number of startups in San Francisco and Minneapolis, and got her M.Ed in College Student Development from Oregon State University.

Jose Guardado, Head of YC Technical Advisor Network
Jose has worked in tech recruiting for 13 years and is now working to build the YC Technical Advisor Network. In his previous role, he managed the network for Engineering and PM execs at Andreessen Horowitz. Prior to that, he led recruiting at Nebula, Edmodo and Dropcam (now Nest/Google). He lives in Daly City with his wife and 2 daughters.

Kenny Joo, Assistant Controller
Prior to joining YC, Kenny was a financial analyst for Sofinnova Ventures, an early stage biotech venture capital. Kenny received BA in Economics from UC Berkeley and is a Certified Public Accountant in California.

Matt Long, Software Engineer
Most recently, Matt was the tech lead of the infrastructure team at PlanGrid (YC W12). Before that, Matt was a co-founder of Crocodoc (YC W10), which was acquired by Box in 2013. He graduated from MIT with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science.

Ramón Recuero, Software Engineer
Ramón joined YC last summer as a Software Engineer. Ramón received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) as valedictorian. He then completed a master’s at IIT. While finishing his master’s, Ramón founded Netgamix, a trivia network that reached 1M users and more than 100K MAU. Later, he helped develop the first version of Zynga’s ad platform and joined Moz as a Software Architect.

Gia Scinto, Head of YC Advisor Network
Gia is responsible for building the YC Advisor Network. Gia also advises YC founders on talent related topics and executive hiring initiatives. Prior to YC, Gia led Special Talent Projects at Google across all product areas. Prior to that, she was an Executive Talent Partner at Andreessen Horowitz where she helped hundreds of founders build their leadership teams.

    Michael Seibel is a Group Partner and Managing Director, Early Stage at YC. He was the cofounder and CEO Justin.tv and Socialcam. Socialcam sold to Autodesk in 2012 and Justin.tv became Twitch.
